Mike Scott
Mike Scott began his musical career in the 1970s and since 1983 has been the leader and chief creative force behind the Waterboys, the band he describes as 'an ever changing ensemble playing an ever evolving music'.

Mike Scott, The Waterboys
Mike recently completed the new Waterboys album "An Appointment With Mr Yeats", in which the lyrics of the great Irish poet WB Yeats are turned into rock 'n' roll songs.
Now Mike is putting the finishing touches to his as-yet untitled memoirs, due for Irish publication by Lilliput Books in early 2012. The book shares tales from Mike's early years as a skoolboy in Scotland, his beginnings in music through the punk years, the rise of the Waterboys, his life and times in Ireland and New York in the 80s/90s, and finally the band's return in 2000 after a 7 year break. All told in Mike's inimitable voice, with humour and gravitas in equal measure.

We're privileged to welcome Mike to Nantwich and to host one of the first readings of material from his book.
