Miles Hunt & Erica Nockalls
MILES HUNT was born in Birmingham and rose to international fame as leader and songwriter-in-chief of The Wonder Stuff, who between 1987 and 1994 were one of the UK's biggest and best loved alternative rock bands.
Albums such as 'Hup" and "Never Loved Elvis" scaled the upper reaches of the album charts and the band's singles, including "The Size Of A Cow" "Welcome To The Cheap Seats" and "Don't Let Me Down Gently" regularly graced the top 10.  In 1991 the band hit Number One when they hooked up with Vic Reeves for a cover of Tommy Roe's sixties hit "Dizzy".

After the band split in 1994 Miles embarked on several different ventures, from new band projects Vent 414 and The Miles Hunt Club, through to stripped down acoustic shows. Miles has also presented shows on MTV and composed the theme music for the CBeebies show "Underground Ernie".

In 2005 violinist Erica Nockalls joined The Wonder Stuff and from 2007 she and Hunt have regularly gigged together as a duo. In 2008 Miles and Erica, inspired by open mic nights at a Shropshire pub near their home, created the "Shared" brand which, following an initial concert at Birmingham Town Hall, has become an ongoing project through which Miles and songwriting friends from the past share stages with new up-and-coming acts.

Words And Music are delighted to welcome Miles and Erica to Nantwich for what promises to be a rousing Sunday night closer to the festival.

After the band's split Jim Bob has divided his time between his burgeoning career as a short story writer/novelist and gigging as a solo artist - playing both Carter songs and new material. His first solo album Angelstrike, was released on November 22, 2004. He would subsequently perform the title track with a 23 piece orchestra and choir at the Bloomsbury Theatre as part of the "9 Lessons And Carols For Godless People" shows.

Subsequent albums have included "School' and "A Humpty Dumpty Thing", the latter released along with an original novella entitled "Word Count"; this last work has now been optioned for film, and Jim Bob is currently working on the screenplay.  His first novel "Storage Stories" was published earlier this year, and he will, as special guest on the Miles Hunt and Erica Nockalls show, be combining reading from his work with songs from all stages of his career.
