Well, it's all over for another year ... the lights are dimmed, the stages taken down and both artistes and audiences are reflecting on how it was for them.
We're really proud of our Festival - every single event exceeded everyone's expectations and with nearly every gig a sell-out, we can't wait to start planning for next year.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 5th
FESTIVAL LAUNCH
5.30 pm
The 2011 Festival kicks off with acoustic music from singers both local and from further afield, punctuated by original poetry and all washed down with a latté and a pannini. Come and celebrate the start of the Festival in style!

The legendary punk poet kicks off the 4th Words and Music Fest with the only North West gig on his UK tour.
LATE NIGHT AT THE VINE
HOSPITAL STREET, NANTWICH From 10.00 pm - 11.00 pm approx
Late night acoustic music hosted by The Vine, under the management of Colin Eagles. A mellow finish to the first night of the festival. Acoustic songs from the Words And Music Massive...including appearances by Nigel Stonier, Tracey Browne, Fluff and Jim Farmer. An hour and a bit of original material, no doubt the odd judicious cover, great musicianship and good vibes.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 6th
at THE CROWN BALLROOM*, NANTWICH
7.30pm
The inimitable Mr Radcliffe - TV and radio presenter, novelist, raconteur, musician and cheese enthusiast brings his new acoustic show to the Festival. Mark will play material from his new album and read from his book "Reelin' In The Years", accompanied by Scrumptillious's Rock Cakes and Sausage Rolls. True rock 'n' roll!

LATE NIGHT AT THE VINE
HOSPITAL STREET, NANTWICH From 10.00 pm
Late night acoustic music hosted by The Vine, under the management of Colin Eagles. The perfect mellow musical finale to your festival evening with a wonderful set from Shropshire singer/songwriter Heidi Browne who makes her Festival debut on piano, guitar and violin.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 7th
MIKE SCOTT of the WATERBOYS reads from his forthcoming memoirs at THE CROWN BALLROOM*, NANTWICH 7.30 pm
The Waterboys leader and revered rock/folk icon is publishing his memoirs in 2012 and we are privileged that he is previewing the book with a reading at Words And Music.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 8th

Words and Music are pleased to announce that singer/songwriter John Bramwell, famed as the voice and songs of mercury Music prize nominated I Am Kloot, has been added to the 2011 bill and will playing a special solo Saturday afternoon show.

Come and see some of the finest local young talent perform live in Nantwich Town Square. We'll have inspiring performances from South Cheshire Youth Sinfonia, Nantwich Young Voices and Nantwich Young Actors.

Fresh from returning to the album charts and from hugely acclaimed performances at Glastonbury and Latitude this summer, Nantwich's most famous resident musician and co-organizer of the Words And Music Festival is back in town.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 9th
at THE PLAYERS THEATRE, NANTWICH

A fabulous opportunity to join three music and drama professionals in a creative, fun workshop using innovative thinking, creative writing and music making.

2.00 pm
The award winning writer and BBC 6 Music presenter reads from his new book "Hope And Glory" and hosts a Q & A session about his work.
ACOUSTIC SUNDAY
2.30 pm
Acoustic tunes, spoken word adventures ... the Sunday session has become a popular fixture of the Festival. Hear new acoustic artists playing original material from blues to roots and beyond, and, if previous years are anything to go by, one or two high profile guests and friends of the Festival may drop in to perform. Always extremely popular so come early!

We are pleased to present the first performance of a highly original piece by Simon Owain-King, a 19 year old local writer, performed by a local young cast.

8.00 pm
The Wonder Stuff singer and leader Miles Hunt, together with instrumentalist Erica Nockalls, brings the festival to a rousing round-off while Jim Bob of the legendary Carter USM joins the show as special guest, mixing Carter hits with slices from his recent novel "Storage Stories".

*The Crown Hotel is a Grade II listed building dating from 1585. The Ballroom is on the first floor of the building up a flight of stairs and due to the building’s age the stairs and floors are uneven. The venue has limited seating capacity so please arrive early if you need a seat, and accept that at Words & Music Festival Events some audience members will stand. Your ticket guarantees entry only. Anyone unable to stand for the gig through disability or medical reasons should contact the box office prior to the event. Words & Music Festival staff will do everything possible to facilitate access for all to the events.
